Greek Lamb Souvlaki

Its ingredients are 1kg lamb (leg or shoulder part) in small chunks, 5 to 6 tbsp olive oil, crushed garlic, lemon juice, red onions chopped, dry Greek oregano, half tbsp, smoked paprika and cumin, 1 tbsp dry thyme. White salt and ground pepper as per flavor.

Add all spices in olive oil, whisk them together. Then pour the meat and chopped onion and blend it well. Let it marinate for 4 hours. Leave it overnight for the best taste. Now, use skewers to put the lamb kebab on a grill. Cook it for 10-15 minutes. Don’t forget to season your lamb meat with salt.

Yemista Vegetables plus meat

Yemista in Greek means stuffed. This is another classic veggie dish in Greece. Its ingredients are zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, and potatoes if you like.

Add a mix of meat, rice, and veggies in the oven and cook them on low heat for 60 minutes. You can omit meat to make it a pure veggie dish. Meat will give you the best flavor with these vegetables and rice. A great summer delight for those who like to have a meal full of energy and yet light on the stomach.  Its best taste comes when served with warm bread of your choice.

Spanakopita (Spinach-Feta Pie)

This is a classic summer Greek dish. This is easy to make pie. It comes with all the filled phyllo pies. Then you wrap phyllo sheets around spinach feta mixture and bake it for 25 to 30 minutes. Now add eggs, ricotta, and cheese in it. Feta will add a tinge of creamy and tangy flavor.

Phyllo is all wheat-based dough. It’s not easy to make this dish at home, which is why many people get it from the mall. This pie will be ready to serve in about 60 to 70 minutes. Serve it as a side or main dish.
